Golgotha

Golgotha - John E. Gardner Cold-war turns hot in this thriller set in a 1980's/1990's? Europe after an invasion by Soviet forces.
With America isolated, the Russians sweep across Europe, leaving the UK fairly intact as a staging post for their troops.

It comes down to one person to find all the clues that have been hidden in case of just such an event, while avoiding capture, and only then might the Russians be neutralised.

Can't really say much more without spoiling things...

Really good book, grips you and keeps you reading. The final few chapters are incredibly tense as things come to a head. Written in a time when Russia was still the villain of choice, this book would appeal to anyone who likes what-if type novels. (Or if you enjoyed "Invasion!" in early 2000AD comics).
