Death's Angels
William King, probably best known for his Warhammer novels (fantasy and sci-fi), has created a novel that could best be described as the love-child of Glen Cook's "Black Company" series and Bernard Cornwell's "Sharpe".This is a fantasy set in a world with magic, demons, elves but the technology has progressed as far as black powder weapons. It focuses on a small group in the army and their interactions amongst themselves, their superior officers and locals.
Plenty going on, the characters are quite well done and the story moves at a good pace.
