Metro 2033

A bit of a slog to get through the story of Artyom as he struggles from his home station of VDNKh to Polis, meeting strange people and creatures along the way.
It picks up in the last third of the book, especially when he gets to go overground for a while.
This is a really good premise for a novel, but not executed very well, possibly down to the translation, or maybe the degree of introspection and grinding misery running through it.
