Europe in Autumn
What starts off as a bit of a post-apoc/noir thriller soon takes a turn into something more.Europe is splitting into tiny nations (polities) as factions carve out their own territory and secede from the countries they were part of.
As borders change, it becomes harder to get information in or out. The coreurs fill the gap, using old spy craft techniques to fetch or deliver messages and sometimes people.
Rudi is thrust into this job and is soon finding himself targeted by other countries agencies and also his own agency.
A really well written story, the characters are interesting with their own agendas. It moves deeper into the sci-fi category in the last third of the book, throwing up a whole new slant.
