Sinbad The New Voyages Volume 1
Another good pulp offering from Airship 27.Three stories by three authors featuring Sinbad (in the mould of the Ray Harryhausen movies version).
There are a core of characters - Sinbad, Ralf the Viking, Henri (Gaulish master archer), Tishimi (female Samurai out to avenge her fathers death) and Omar the fist mate. They all get their moment to shine through the stories.
There's also the background cast of "red shirt" characters. The first story opens with Sinbad going on a recruitment drive to find more crew to sail his ship The Blue Nymph.
The different authors all have their own style. The first is fairly generic, the second is more Disney's Aladdin than Sinbad and the third is possibly more true to the original Sinbad but done in a Robert E. Howard swords-and-sorcery style.
They're all good stories in their own way, I personally favoured the second story although it's a close run thing with the third.
