Serpent (Numa Files, #1)
Supposedly written by Clive Cussler "with" Paul Kemprekos, this comes across as Dirk Pitt fan fiction.Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala are the replacement Dirk Pitt/Al Giordino, complete with duplicate traits.
(Pitt collects old automobiles, Austin collects old firearms. Giordino/Zavala is the faithful, wise cracking sidekick).
The story is quite slow, and a bit of a chore to get into. There's a few exciting moments in the last third of the book.
