The Raven in the Foregate (Cadfael Chronicles)
This seemed a longer Cadfael book than others, but ulitmately has less happening.A new Parish priest replaces one who died naturally. Where the old one was happy to absolve everyone and accept them as people, the new one is full of fire and brimstone, seeing them all as sinners.
After his actions lead to him being generally disliked, there are plenty of suspects when he is found dead in a stream.
The usual false trails, multiple suspects, discovered evidence give Cadfael and Hugh Beringar a chase as they try to find out what happened, and is there a murderer out there?
