Furies of Calderon

Furies of Calderon - Jim Butcher In a world where the majority of people can control the elements, Tavi stands out for having no ability in it at all.
Accidentally finding himself caught up in a plot to overthrow the ruler, he shows that courage and intelligence can help just as much.

Lots of intrigue, not knowing who can be trusted, and plenty of action make this a worthwhile read.
The characters are well done, none of them seem to be used as filler material. There are plenty of tense moments between them, with loyalties shifting from one moment to the next.

Jim Butcher creates an interesting world with a good use of magic, completely different from his Dresden Files books.
