Sheriff's Blood
A novel that introduces Jonas Culpepper and his big dog called Bear, as they keep law and order in San Juan.Some likeable characters, the author isn't afraid to put them in harms way (and just as importantly, he doesn't give them an easy way out of some of the problems).
A bit more gritty than JT Edson/Louis Lamour, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
The ending was a bit of an anti-climax after the events building up to it.
