The Masked City

She's still living in the 19th Century alternative earth, mentoring her trainee Kai and being involved in adventures with that worlds version of Sherlock Holmes.
The Fae have plans afoot, and Irene & co. are soon off to a chaotic world in a rescue mission which if unsuccessful could lead to a war between the dragon kingdoms and their alternative earth.
Plots within plots, and Irene finds that her actions may be deniable by the Library if anything goes wrong.
The Fae act like the Lords and Ladies in the Terry Pratchett novel of that name, there's also a hint of Sherlock Holmes and The Chequy Files (Daniel O'Mally) and Rivers of London (Ben Aaronovitch).
It's well paced and the writing is really well done.
