Captain Kelso joined the army with good intentions. After finding himself thwarted by rules, borders and Indians not having the same restrictions, he hits the bottle.When he fails to rescue two boys kidnapped by Apaches and seeing the disgust of their father, he thinks he's hit rock bottom.
He gets a second chance, and soon is leading Company C on their first mission.
A decent but rather short story.
