Longbow (The Saga of Roland Inness Book 1)

Longbow (The Saga of Roland Inness Book 1) - Wayne Grant In 12th Century England, the Normans are firmly embedded and the remaining Saxons and Danes are living under their rule.
Roland Innes has been taught how to make and use a longbow. While trying to get food for his family he runs afoul of the local barons son.
After humiliating him and seeing his father murdered as a result he flees his home, managing to fall in with another Norman knight as a squire.

Plenty more adventures ensue as the barons son sends an assassin after him, as well as meeting Frair Tuck and Robin of Loxley.

A good start to a series that has moments of suspense, some good humour and a decent amount of action.
