Summer of the Danes
Cadfael gets a chance to stretch his legs and go to Wales with Brother Mark who has messages to deliver.Things are up in the air, Owain has effectively made his brother Cadwaladr persona non grata and he is plotting his revenge. This comes in the form of inviting Vikings over from Dublin.
As is usual in the Cadfael books, there's a murder to solve and a young woman looking to find a man of her own choosing.
Plenty going on, and it's good to see Cadfael back in his native Wales. There are lots of things that could ruin the good intentions of both sides trying to act honourably, if the right spark is added.
